Chambers Germany 2026 is Out
The new edition of Chambers Germany is live.
This year, 313 law firms and 1,357 individual lawyers have been ranked. For the German legal market, these figures reflect the continued development of the guide and its growing coverage. For comparison, the Chambers Germany 2025 edition — the first stand-alone Germany guide — covered approximately 253 firms across multiple practice tables (with 797 ranked departments).
Among the firms recognised are major international and German players such as Freshfields, Hengeler Mueller, CMS, Linklaters, Clifford Chance LLP, Hogan Lovells, Bird & Bird, Gleiss Lutz, Noerr, DLA Piper, Greenberg Traurig, LLP, Latham & Watkins LLP, A&O Shearman and Baker McKenzie.
The list confirms what we already see in the market: Germany remains one of the most competitive and internationally integrated legal jurisdictions in Europe. Firms with strong cross-border capabilities continue to dominate in high-value areas such as Corporate/M&A, Finance, White-Collar Crime and Employment.
Looking Ahead: Chambers Germany 2027
The submission window for the 2027 edition will open in April 2026.
Research runs from April to October 2026.
This year also brings structural updates:
New practice areas open for submissions:
Employment: Pensions
White-Collar Crime: Criminal Tax Law
2. New structure for Corporate/M&A:
up to €250 million
€250 million to €500 million
above €500 million
This segmentation will require more precise positioning. Firms active across different deal sizes will need to think carefully about which transactions to highlight and how to frame their competitive edge.
